The Australasian Evaluation Society (AES), Wellington, New Zealand is proud to be hosting the next annual conference in Wellington. We are committed to showing you a good time, as well as organising a conference that will inspire, challenge and inform you.
The conference will bring together people and organisations with an interest in the theory and practice of evaluation.
This year's theme, Reflecting on Evaluation, invites evaluators, commissioners and users of evaluation to reflect on current professional practice and the role of evaluation within the wider society.
Venue
The venue for the conference is Victoria University of Wellington's Pipitea campus.
Most activities will take place in Rutherford House. The conference reception will be on the ground floor.
Pre-conference workshops
14 pre-conference workshops are being on 30 and 31 August. Places are still available for some of these workshops. You can still register for these workshops on the day - see the Preconference workshop page for details. The workshops will be held at Rutherford House.
Powhiri (traditional welcome)
The conference will open on Wednesday morning with a powhiri at Pipitea Marae. The marae is five to ten minutes walk from Rutherford House. The registration desk will open at 8.00am at Rutherford House on Wednesday. The powhiri will start at the marae at 9.00am. It will be followed by morning tea and the first keynote address. Lunch will then be served at Rutherford House, during which registrations will continue to be taken.
When you arrive at the marae, please gather at the entrance by the street. At 9.00am we will be welcomed onto the marae. If you are unable to make it on time, please wait by the entrance to the marae, you will be ushered in once the formal welcome is complete.
If the weather is bad, shuttle buses will be provided from Rutherford House to the marae.
Late conference registrations
You can still register for the conference on the day. Payments can be made by credit card or invoice. Please ask at the registration desk. Costs and registration details can be found on the registration page.
Conference reception
The conference reception will be held on Wednesday evening at Rutherford House, starting at 5.45pm. Posters will be presented during this time.
Conference dinner
The conference dinner is being held at Parliament Buildings on Thursday evening (which is opposite the conference venue). Due to Parliamentary requirements we are unable to take further dinner registrations.
